Jack Black, John C Reilly, Allison Janey, Patrick Neal Harris and a lot of famous faces have a little fun with Prop 8, Jesus, and the pious. See it here. See Towleroad for details on the production.
“Perfect Storm” PR Disaster for Mormon Church
December 3, 2008Jan Shipps, a Methodist woman who has long studied the Mormons, describes the current situation as a “perfect storm” public relations disaster for the Mormon Church. Here she is on a local Salt Lake City station:
Real Family Values
December 2, 2008If you believe Real Family Values means heterosexual relationships and not same-sex relationships, then read this man’s story, and if it moves you, there is more here and here. He speaks to the reality that we live in so different from the black/white, right/wrong, straight/gay world Mormons and others want to enforce through law.
And then, just because I like his writing, read his letter to Larry Craig on the politics of it all.
Mormon Synchronized Swim Team
December 1, 2008A nice little mental health break. Mormon boys channeling Esther Williams:

Finger Pointing Over The Loss
November 25, 2008Queerty has a great roundup of the finger pointing, including a link to the Advocate article on why No on Prop 8 failed. Personally I don’t feel anger at community leaders. I believe the gay community was shocked to realize we cared so much about this only after it happened. Thanks largely to the Mormon Church, the giant is now wide awake.
